Though the law in most developed and secular developing countries promotes gender equality, the way girls are treated and bought up is influenced to a large extent by society and the media.
Though girls do well in academics in school and college, few are able to focus on their career and earn as much as they deserve. Most of them are forced to compromise and give up on their professional interests as it is much more acceptable socially.
